lets jom: October 2008

wazaaa...bandung here we come....

we travelled by airasia of course,there were 11 of us including the little one.
we went to bandung of the 3rd day of raya courtesy of my father inlaw.
we were all very excited to travel together gether all beramai ramai...it was a hectic trip
but all fun and funny..hehehe.here's the rest of the picas..

this was me and ryzal infront of the hotel we stayed in.
the name of the hotel was Aston villa..nolah..just Aston je..
we were waiting here for our bus ride to go for lunch

this was bumbu desa..this was where we had lunch on the first day of arrival...
a very nice place i must say ..fantastic ambient,but a bit warm because there wasnt any airconditioning ( what a pity!)..decor was impressive.food was even better..
noticed the teapots they used as a feature wall behind the cashier.great idea innit? the wooden logs was also part of the decor..

this was more of what caught my attention..the "siput sedut" looks a bit different from what we have in Malaysia..i didnt eat it tho..besides this i was busy eating so i didnt have enough time to shoot the rest of the meal that we had.it was absolutely delicious...berpeluh-peluh aku!

and so lunch was over, we took some more photos in front of the restaurant then n went off to start our main event of the trip....SHOPPING!!!!! the pic in B&W is esti my sister in law. i think she heard me saying shopping,hmmmmmmm...hahaha...

well....not all of us were tooo excited about "it" i guess..hahaha.

we were at CIHAMPELAS soon after that n checked out the local shopping scene there,this was later in the afternoon..

the boys eventually found some cool stuffs around the area.one of it was this mannequin sitting at the stairs of a store selling clothes.from afar it looked damn real,chis ..tertipah aku.!!
the two mannequin behind ryzal even had a burning kretek on their fingers!! kretek burns slower than any other ciggies...

this was sold by the streetwalks of the shops there.i just find it so colourful i couldnt resist snapping a photo.some ninja figurines i think..

this was also one of the cool stuff i found whilst standing in the middle of the crowd..a sign that says ATM this way and SUPERHERO this way too hahahahaha..

if u have to know ,what the SUPERHERO sign was all about,it was actually shops that u can find at cihampelas..superheros were the shops themes there...ahhh... that explains yah?

then of course there was something else that caught my attention.
the local food stalls that sells Durian ice cream and Baso tahu.
looks tempting eh?

my youngest sister in law eryse making sad faces when we told her times up...haha!

the one with the sasak bag is my sister inlaw also,aboys wife Liza from brunei..this was when we were waiting for our ride back to the hotel....obviously i was too tired to carry the little one hehehe,thanks uncle boy!sampai kerut2 dahi...

so later that night we went out for dinner at Paris Van Java.
here's a little brief info about this place taken from wikipedia lah where else?
tapi translation dia agak kelakar lah..had to do some correction of my own..

It is one of the largest shopping center in Bandung today.it is located in the area north of Bandung. One attraction of this place is the atmosphere of open water and that it opens until the middle of the night (especially for the cafe / restaurant).

Paris Van Java was designed with a European concept complete with open water and the birds (dove) decorative floating free, toilets are made with the adjoining fish ponds, which attract tenants interior, and the organization of events varied, also animate this.

It is occupied by about 200 tenants who vary in the types of products and services offered. Among them is a concept restaurant, fast foods, cafes, fashion shops, book shops, stores needs of the household, Hypermart, cinemas, karaoke, and many more.

~masei masei~

apparently whenever customers walk in to the restaurant the workers cum waiters/waitress would say the word ~masei masei~ ....usually one of them would initiate it and the rest would go like ~masei masei~.so the whole restaurant could hear it..what happened was, i so gatal when taking a photo ,i said the magic word and to my surprise the workers also went ~masei masei~ hahahahaha... talk about enthusiasm at work!

now,this is what i call enthusiasm!!!

it was none other than the one and only mr. infrared himself
Pak Jojo!! who also spent his raya in Bandung with his family..

that was the end of that night and we all went back to get some good rest n sleep..another hectic day awaits us..

SHOPPING DAY #2
this was at pasar baru maybe bout 10 mins from where we stayed.iti s like em typical shopping complexes like Campbell KL or even Capital Beijing.different floors sell different items lah.the ground floor was where the textiles were sold.thats Nors fav floor!..u can find some really good bargains here,none of em branded stuffs tho, but still good bargains..

aboy was beginning to get bored so out comes the handphone...Nor was having a jolly good time at the textile floor

we then had lunch at a fast food joint called Wendy's.dunno if we have that in KL.anyways nothing much about that place just some pics of me taking pics of people taking a picture of me!aiyo so confusing..

this was just after lunch n where we were waiting for a cab, the taxi drivers in Bandung r ridiculous with their prices so if ur there on ur visit beware of this scam...we continued our shopping trip thru the rest of the day to other various shopping spots in the city particularly the factory outlets,didnt take my cam out so much b then..to lazy ady..

arina was kept busy with her crayons

later that night we went for a massage at this famous Spa joint in Bandung called Roger's.the place is awesome..modern design,has that zen feeling when u walk in to this place,after the massage we had dinner that.thats where i had this delicious sup bontot goreng.served with fried rice i think.legendary babeh!

my favourite drink whilst in Indonesia!! fruit tea perisa apel...mmmm...me likey..

and this was the last photo i took while at one of the executive waiting lounge,our flight back to KL was delayed about 3hours,we were so bored here..nyways.so much so for the trip.
would i go back to Bandung if asked to?the answer is ..yeah..

wazaa..raya is here again...n so traditionally this where u will return home to ur folks n spend this festive season with.unfortunately for me i had to be on duty on the 1st day of raya(in miri to be more precise-boring......!).nonetheless i did return home on the second day of raya to be with my family.above is a picture of my mother n father shot at their home during my visit.

my siblings werent around on the second day so this is just us then..

its almost impossible to get my mum to make funny faces but this was one exception she made for us.hehehe.funny lah my mother....!

later that day we went over to my inlaws n celebrated raya there.this is a photo of us with my father inlaw n my mum inlaw.the little one was not so cooperative this time.
